Mendip Meet February 2022

The first away trip of the year proved to be a popular event and included some of the finest trips in Mendip.

The caving started on Friday evening with trips to the recent discovery 'Land of Hope and Glory' in Wookey Hole and an SRT trip to St Cuthbert’s Swallet rigging Pulpit Pitch for the next day with a circuit to see some of the formations. Three big trips were enjoyed on Saturday - an SRT round trip in St Cuthbert’s Swallet, Upper Flood Swallet to Neverland and Charterhouse Swallet as far as Diesel Duck (now sumped). All three full of variety and good formations. This was followed by a trip to Sludge Pit Hole on the Sunday. Other highlights include the visits to The Hunters’ Lodge Inn and Hannah Bennett’s birthday party at The Belfry.

See CSS Newsletter Vol. 64, Nos. 1-3 for trip reports from the Charterhouse and St Cuthbert's trips.
